About Project
The Nhat Tan Bridge spans the Red River. The bridge plays a crucial role in connecting the city center with Noi Bai International Airport, thereby promoting economic and social development in northern Hanoi. The bridge has a total length of 9.17 km, with the main bridge section measuring 3.9 km and the approach bridge 5.27 km. The deck width is 33.2 m, comprising four lanes for motor vehicles, two bus lanes, two mixed-traffic lanes, a central divider, and pedestrian walkways. Designed as a continuous cable-stayed bridge with five diamond-shaped towers and six cable spans, the structure symbolizes Hanoi’s five ancient city gates. In 2015, the Nhat Tan Bridge received the JICA President Award, recognizing its significant contributions to Vietnam’s socio-economic development and the cooperative relationship between the two nations. Mattlock Construction’s scope of work included consultations on fabricating and erecting steel girders, bridge handrails, and inclined supports.
